The trek starts from Srinagar and takes you to Aru Base Camp, from where the actual trekking adventure begins.

Welcome to Srinagar! Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by a representative. Enjoy a scenic 4-hour drive to Aru Village, also known as the Valley of Shepherds. The route passes through beautiful saffron fields along the KP Road. After check-in, explore the village on foot, enjoy dinner, and rest overnight.
After breakfast, begin your trek to Lidderwat (6–7 hours). The trail passes through Gujjar settlements at Nandkei, pine forests, open grasslands, and multiple stream crossings. Reach Lidderwat by evening, set up camp, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in tents.
Post breakfast, trek from Lidderwat to Shekwas (5–6 hours). Walk alongside the river through pine forests and lush valleys. Cross the river at Homwas, pass Gujjar huts, and climb towards beautiful Silver Birch groves before reaching Shekwas campsite for the night.
After breakfast, start your trek to Tarsar Lake (5–6 hours). The trail includes ridge walks and stream crossings. After about two hours, you’ll get your first glimpse of Tarsar Lake. Camp near the lake and spend the night beside its crystal-clear waters.
Trek from Tarsar to Sundersar (5–6 hours, 5 km). Descend through scenic grasslands, pass Bakkarval shelters, cross streams, and climb a ridge to reach a flower-filled meadow. Camp near Sundersar Lake and enjoy the serene surroundings.
After breakfast, trek towards Marsar Lake via Sundersar (9 km, 7–8 hours). The trail includes rocky sections and steep climbs, rewarding trekkers with breathtaking views. After descending back, take an alternate trail to Homwas, set up camp, enjoy meals, and rest overnight.
On the final day, trek from Homwas to Aru Village (13 km, 6–7 hours). Descend through Lidderwat pine forests while enjoying views of the Kolahoi Glacier. The trek concludes at Aru Village, marking the end of a memorable adventure.
